*John Nieto

John Nieto (1936 – 2018) was born in Denver, Colorado, and grew up with deep roots in New Mexico due to his Native American heritage. He became associated with the Santa Fe art scene, where his work found a natural home among collectors and institutions drawn to the cultural richness of the Southwest. His use of bold color is similar to Fauvism.
